Coverage

Seven areas of my life, scored once a week. The number is coverage, never a verdict.

Overview

Week runs Sunday to Saturday. I close it Saturday around 2pm — score the week, then pick one move for each area. Every area is scored 0.0–10.0 to one decimal, then weighted, and the total is out of 10.0. This runs as a 4-week sprint at a time: the loop gets judged, not me.

One tab per area. Each one says what counts this week, a real example, and why it matters.

AreaWeightWhat scores
Body25%The machine: calorie ceiling, sleep hours, MWF lifts, the open medical gates
Aim20%One dated step toward the aim, with proof attached
Systems15%One act that removes a recurring decision from every future week
People15%Family and chosen people — acts sent, replies never counted
Company15%A woman, regularly — apps farmed, asks sent, weekly slot held, never whether she shows
Play5%One real experience I would choose again
Risk5%One irreversible downside priced or removed

The rules

Where the week gets written down

Weight and sleep totals come off the dashboards (weight, sleep, food). Everything else is one line per area in the weekly close — the dated step and its proof for Aim, the removed decision for Systems, what I sent for People and Company, the thing I would do again for Play, the downside handled for Risk.

History: week 1 scored 4.6 under the first version of the names, 4.8 after renaming. This page is the seven-area version, under expert review as of 25 Sep 2026.

1. Body — 25%

Body

25%biggest weight — the machine everything else runs on
What counts this week

The basics I already know: stayed under the calorie ceiling, got the sleep hours, did the three lifts, kept CPAP on, and did not let an open medical thing sit another week.

For example

Lifted Mon / Wed / Fri. Slept 7+ hours on the nights the watch recorded it. CPAP on every night. Weight down at the Saturday weigh-in. One medical gate moved forward — booked the knee assessment, or the GP actually read the ECG. A week with none of these written down scores low no matter how it felt.

Why it matters

This is the only area that can end the whole plan. Everything I say I want — energy, sex, income, travel, living to 80 without being broken — is bought with this. It also has the real clocks on it (heart, lipids, thyroid, knee, sleep), and the penalty is skipped, not slow.

2. Aim — 20%

Aim

20%gated: name the aim by 26 Oct 2026
What counts this week

One dated step toward the thing I am building that pays, with something I can show.

For example

"Fri 2 Oct — Taskomation pricing page published and 5 first emails sent", with the page link and the sent folder as proof. Or "one paying client call done". A step I cannot show is not a step.

Why it matters

For 25 years my score came from other people recognising me, and in 2019 that got switched off by one client and one person — so it could sit at zero forever, and did. An aim I can verify myself cannot be switched off by anyone. And an aim I have not named yet means this whole 20% of the week runs at 10%.

3. Systems — 15%

Systems

15%paid once, saves every week
What counts this week

One act that kills a decision I would otherwise make again and again.

For example

Asked Rimping to deliver the same order every week (chicken breast, eggs, cottage cheese) so food stops being a daily decision. Or wrote the deploy as a script so shipping a page is one command. Or put the Sunday alignment form on a timer so it asks itself.

Why it matters

Decisions cost me more than effort does. Every decision I remove is removed from every future week at once — so this area is leverage: one hour here buys back hours for the next year.

4. People — 15%

People

15%scored on what I sent, never on replies
What counts this week

Family and chosen men. Only what I send counts: the message, the call, the invitation.

For example

Messaged Dad, called my brother, asked two guys from Monday pickleball to Friday. Or sent the boys a message even if the last three got no answer. Replies are never counted — that is the whole point.

Why it matters

The biggest long study of men's lives found that the quality of relationships at 50 predicts health and happiness at 80 better than cholesterol does. It also fixes the flaw in my old score: I can send without needing anyone's approval, so this number cannot be zeroed out by someone else's silence.

5. Company — 15%

Company

15%scored on inputs, never on whether she shows up
What counts this week

A woman in my life on a regular basis — measured by what I did, not by what she did.

For example

Four new matches messaged, two asks sent, the standing weekly slot held, the date actually happened. If she cancels, the slot still counts as held on my side.

Why it matters

I have to be honest about this one: without a girl to meet and regular sex, I lose motivation and the desire to live. That is real and it is not going away. So it gets its own place and its own weight instead of quietly running (or ruining) everything else in the background — and because it is scored on what I do, it can never sit at zero waiting on someone else.

6. Play — 5%

Play

5%small weight, easy to skip, expensive to skip
What counts this week

One real experience I would choose again if I had the week back.

For example

A named film at a named showtime. A ride up the mountain. A long walk with someone. An hour at the range. Not scrolling, not a nap, not a beer on the sofa.

Why it matters

A life that is only training, admin and work narrows until it feels like nothing worth keeping — and that is how plans die, by boredom rather than failure. The pleasure slot is what makes the rest of the list worth running at all.

7. Risk — 5%

Risk

5%all or nothing
What counts this week

One downside that cannot be undone — priced, or removed.

For example

Will written and beneficiaries named. The tax bill funded before April. The crypto reserve moved so one bad week cannot take the whole thing. One less place where my money sits unlocked.

Why it matters

Every other area assumes tomorrow happens. One irreversible event — no will, an unfiled return, a price crash while everything is exposed — cancels all six areas above it at once. That is why it is small in weight and treated as all or nothing.
